  6. Zest of 1 orange
  7. 2-3 star anise

Preparation Steps:

  1. Prepare Pears: Peel the pears, leaving stems intact. Slice the bottom so the pears can stand upright.

  3. Add Pears: Add pears to the saucepan. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Poach Pears: Gently poach the pears for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are tender.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove pears and let them cool. Reduce the sauce until it thickens. Pour over the pears when serving.
